Need Summer Reading Help?

Stop in the Behrend Bookstore and check out the "Want to Know More?" section, where you will find a variety of books tied to College for Kids classes. The books offer interesting summer reading, as well as arts, crafts, and projects your children can do at home.

The Bookstore is located on the left as you enter the front doors of the Reed Union Building.

 

Penn State Behrend Sports Camps 

The Penn State Behrend Athletic Department offers thirteen sports camps, team camps, and shoot-outs in soccer, basketball, volleyball, swimming, water polo, football, softball, and baseball designed to give you the opportunity to improve your skills. Penn State Behrend Early Learning Center

The first environment outside the home is extremely important to the development of young children. The Penn State Behrend Early Learning Center provides a warm, supportive environment in which children are encouraged to explore their individuality, to develop positive feelings about learning and to reach their fullest potential. Daily experiences are planned for all areas of a child's development - physical, social, emotional, and cognitive.

Penn State Educational Partnership Program (PEPP)

What is PEPP? Founded in 1991, PEPP is an after-school academic and social enhancement program in three Erie, Pennsylvania inner city schools: Wayne and Wilson Middle Schools, and Central High School. In a structured setting with teachers, tutors, and community mentors, PEPP provides the opportunity for students to develop leadership skills and improve academically in order to be better prepared to pursue post-secondary education or training. Pennsylvania Sea Grant:

The educational component of Pennsylvania Sea Grant focuses on the development of curricula and other programming related to Pennsylvania's Lake Erie watershed and Delaware Estuary, placing special emphasis on the incorporation of Sea Grant, Delaware Estuary, and Great Lakes related materials into elementary, middle, and high school curricula. The strategy includes a balance between classroom work and field experience. The ultimate goal is to promote environmental awareness and stewardship among our youth.

The Summer Music Academy (SMA)

The Summer Music Academy (SMA) 2009 is the region's finest string music program for beginning, intermediate and advanced musicians who can read music. The SMA meets the educational needs of students who wish to further their summer studies with in-depth training on their particular instruments. The SMA offers: Theory & Solfeggio, Music Appreciation, Conducting, Orchestration, Ensemble Rehearsals, Chorus, Private Instruction, and Faculty & Student Recitals.
