What do I do now that I am enrolled in the Education Certification Program?
Once you have contacted the coordinator of education programs, a file will be created for you with all pertinent information relating to your major, certification requirements completed and any additional information you would like to have as part of your record.
Remember to keep in regular contact with your assigned major advisor as well as the coordinator of education programs to make sure that you are completing the necessary requirements and to learn about any updates to the program.
In addition to completing your Penn State Behrend degree (minimum GPA of 3.0) there are additional requirements that must be met prior to beginning coursework at Mercyhurst College. You will be expected to take and pass three sections (reading, writing and mathematics) of the PRAXIS I Pre-Professional Skills Test. Registration booklets can be obtained in Division of Undergraduate Studies (Reed Building, Room 1). There are also on-line study guides to take review.
To make official application to Mercyhurst, you must complete a Mercyhurst Adult College application. Applications can be obtained from the Division of Undergraduate Studies. There is a $30 application fee and an official transcript must be sent to Mercyhurst College. You will also need two letters of evaluation from Penn State Behrend faculty members.
